Fred Armstrong

Fred L. Armstrong, P.A.

Mr. Armstrong served Marion County and the city of Indianapolis as a full-time employee for 27 years. Mr. Armstrong served as City Controller during the Lugar and Hudnut administration which was highlighted by his selection as the top City Controller in the country in 1987. Mr. Armstrong currently owns a consulting firm and serves on numerous Boards and Commissions. Mr. Armstrong joined the RIPEA Board in 1992.

Mr. Armstrong resides in Indianapolis, IN.

Christie A. Bader

Ms. Bader worked 20 years for New Albany-Floyd County schools.  During her tenure Ms. Bader served as Bookstore Manager, Purchasing Agent and Systems Operator.  Ms. Bader is Past President of the Clerical and Support Staff at the school and has served on the Board of Directors of the New Albany schools credit union since 1994.  Ms. Bader is currently President of the Southeast Chapter of RIPEA.  Ms. Bader joined the RIPEA Board in 2010.

Ms. Bader resides in Georgetown, IN.

Thomas V. Barnes, Attorney-at-Law

Mr. Barnes, a retired Army colonel, is the former Mayor of Gary, Indiana. Mr. Barnes currently practices law in Gary and is an active member of Brother's Keeper, a homeless shelter for needy men. Mr. Barnes joined the RIPEA Board in 1998.

Mr. Barnes resides in Gary, IN.

Larry Buell

Larry L. Buell

Mr. Buell received his Bachelors Degree from Ball State, and his Masters Degree from Indiana University.  Mr. Buell was a member of the House of Representatives for 26 years.  He was Executive Director and Treasurer of the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County, and also was Marion County Treasurer for 8 years.  Mr. Buell joined the RIPEA Board in 2008.  Mr. Buell is currently a CPA.

Marty Chitwood

Marty Chitwood

Ms. Chitwood is a Graduate of I.U. School of Real Estate; Elected Clerk Treasurer of the City of Greenwood and a former employee in the Sanitation Department; Secretary to Principals at V.O. Isom Elementary School; Secretary to Directors of Monroe CountyWelfare Department; Executive Secretary to Commissioners of the Indiana Department of Correction; a State Tax Examiner at the Indiana Department of Revenue; various positions with House of Representatives and Indiana Senate and Director of Studen Services at the Indiana Senate. Ms. Chitwood is a busy volunteer and grateful to have volunteered 9 years in the Children's Cancer Center at Riley Hospital and  9-1/2 years as a volunteer tutor at Westwood Elementary School.  Ms. Chitwood is a very active politically, a long time Dream Home volunteer for Dyslexia; a crime watch coordinator; American Theater Organ Society; Rose Society; and others.  Ms. Chitwood joined the RIPEA Board in 1998.

Craig Hartzer

Craig Hartzer

Dr. Hartzer served as Deputy Mayor of the City of South Bend, Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development and Executive Director of the Public Employees Retirement Fund.  Dr. Hartzer currently serves as Director of Executive Education in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.  Dr. Hartzer joined the RIPEA Board in 2006.

Morris Mills

Morris Mills

Mr. Mills is the former State Senator, and also a former State Representative. He brings to the Board a wide scope of experience in state budgetary matters having served as Budget Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee.  Mr. Mills was recently honored by IUPUI - Indianapolis by naming an atrium of a new building.  Mr. Mills joined the RIPEA Board in 2001.

Mr. Mills resides in Ladoga, IN.

 

Marty Montgomery

Marriette (Marty) Montgomery

Mrs. Montgomery was employed 44 years with the Public Employees Retirement Fund.  She served as a retirement counselor in PERF for the majority of her public service.  Mrs. Montgomery received the Public Service Achievement Award from Governor Bayh in 1994 and Governor O'Bannon in 1999.  Mrs. Montgomery joined the RIPEA Board in 2010.

Mrs. Montgomery resides in Indianapolis.

Roger Parent

Roger Parent

Mr. Parent has dedicated most of his life to public service and the Peace Corps.  Mr. Parent was Mayor of South Bend for 8 years after serving 8 years on the South Bend Common Council.  Mr. Parent has served in the Peace Corps on 2 separate tours of duty spending his Peace Corps service in Thailand.  Mr. Parent joined the RIPEA Board in 2005.

John Riemke

John Riemke

Mr. Riemke was Mayor of Kendallville for 20 years and also the Town Manager for the towns of Avilla and Albion.  Mr. Riemke is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Public Employers Plan, Inc. and the Parkview Noble County Hospital Foundation.  Mr. Riemke joined the RIPEA Board in 2004.

Mr. Riemke resides in Kendalville, IN.

 

 

Harold Woodruff

Harold Woodruff

Mr. Woodruff served the citizens of Frankfort, IN as a policeman, police chief and Mayor. As police chief he was very active in the traffic safety programs and worked closely with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in this area. Mr. Woodruff served as Mayor of Frankfort for 8 years. Mr. Woodruff joined the RIPEA Board in 2000.
